Hello and hope everyone is having a great summer - how has it flown by so fast? My most excellent co-mod hazelwho and I have compared our schedules, and it appears that the best time for this chat will be this Saturday, August 15th at 4:00pm Eastern/3:00pm Central.

As always, the chats are on Skype, and for those who don't have an account, it's free, and signing up is fairly quick and painless. Here is the link to Skype if you need to get started.

Once you have a Skype account, go to Contact -> Add contacts and search for hazel.who or mizface68 and add us. The name dSC6DBB 2015 is the group name to search for. Once you've done that, we can add you to the chat group. If you have trouble finding us that way, you can search by email:

Going to be late for art checkin

Hi Miz!!

I have a note in my calendar wot reminds me that the art checkin for the big bang begins on 23rd August.

Of course, on 23rd August, it now appears that I will just have landed in the UK after a trans-continental and trans-Atlantic flight, and will not be in a fit place to log on to a computer, much less ... well, anything other than sleep, I guess. And the next couple of days after that, I will probably be fully engaged looking after my mother, who'll just be coming out of a knee replacement op (the reason I'm travelling in the first place). So it will be at least half a week before I even get online to check through the story submissions, much less claim one.

So if you don't hear from me immediately, it's not that I've died, right? It's just that real life is choosing this very moment to intervene :(

On the bright side, that means I *should* have a week or so spare just to practise with a pencil again, and rough out some ideas and thumbnails. Which I'll need, since I haven't touched a pencil this summer (oops). While drafts are due the 23rd, claims won't begin until the 28th.
