2017 dSC6D Big Bang - Sign Ups End Tomorrow
Just a friendly reminder that tomorrow is the deadline for signing up, which means you still have a bit of time to add your name to this year's list :)
Question about online discussion of BB WIPs
1) A bunch of us were talking about having some informal extra support chat/weekly check-ins over at < a href="http://forums.bothsidesoftheborder.com/index.php?sid=25055ae34bfe7c8f4369fca6a7b70709">Both Sides Of The Border (sl_walker and ride_4ever's new DS/C6D/Twin Peaks forum). Mods, participants, and cheerleaders would be welcome to join us there.
2) And we were wondering whether it would be okay for people to post snippets as part of that chatting? (That is, would it violate the "must not have posted any part of the piece" regulation?)

2. The rule isn't so much "can't have been posted" as much as it's "previously posted material doesn't count toward the minimum," actually. For example, Hazel and I had posted a several thousand word teaser for Rising Sun a couple of years prior to finishing it for the Big Bang, so we made sure to have 20k new words.
But we talked about it, and honestly don't see an issue with it if it's part of a chat. Especially if those chats are on Skype or something similar, rather than comments or posts on DW/LJ/etc
Sound fair?
Re: Question about online discussion of BB WIPs
2. Both Sides of the Border is a forum, so it'd be more like comments on an LJ post than like comments in a Skype chat. But (if I understood what the person who suggested it had in mind) it'd be like one of those memes where you post a few sentences of your WIP, not like publishing a chapter on your blog. I'm not sure where that falls on your spectrum of okayness? :)
Re: Question about online discussion of BB WIPs
2. I think it should be okay. I'm seriously doubting anyone will be posting so close to 20k words that anything they post will be problematic as far as meeting a minimum. It reminds me of the ficfinishing comm idea - did you ever use that comm? On one of the days we all posted snippets to get feedback, or just cheering on.
